ACA-based adjustments have ramped up over the last few years amid sometimes complex regulatory guidelines. But, in essence, the changes unfolding have two main drivers: performance and value. Health organizations no longer get paid for just the quantity of healthcare they provide, but also for how well they perform in delivering quality care. Now the judge of their performance is ultimately the patient and the degree of satisfaction he or she will attest to, both in terms of positive outcomes and the treatment process. In this report, we hope to provide a “quick look” at what’s involved in these changes, what prompted them, and the kind of details that matter for all suppliers and buyers involved in today’s patient-and government-driven healthcare. The report references our own long-time role as a supplier of medical recliners as an example of the kind of details that have become more important than ever in healthcare.
