With 10,000 Americans turning 65 every day, the senior living workforce is under increasing pressure. To understand the unique challenges facing the workforce and explore strategies for managing these challenges, Holleran and Argentum conducted a national workforce survey among community executives. The survey delves into the interplay of factors influencing employee retention, recruitment, leadership development, diversity and policy. Responses spotlight effective ways to retain staff, recruit qualified and diverse talent, build a supportive culture and balance care with compliance. As we look ahead, the quality of life for residents at senior living communities will be shaped by the quality of the workforce that serves them. The results of this survey highlight opportunities for navigating workforce challenges and paves the way for a successful and sustainable future.
